Barbecue Chicken & Sticky BBQ Sauce-Wheat/Gluten Free


BBQ Chicken

3-4 lbs boneless chicken thighs

or breasts (wf)

BBQ Sauce

1⁄2 cup homemade or wheat-free ketchup

1⁄2 cup hoisin sauce (wf) 1⁄4 cup lemon or lime juice 1⁄4 cup pure cane sugar or maple syrup

1 tsp minced garlic 1 tsp Chinese 5 Spice

1⁄4 tsp cayenne

In a Medium size pot combine the ketchup, Hoisin sauce, lime juice, sugar, garlic, Chinese 5 Spice, and cayenne. Bring to a boil for 1 minute then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes so the spices can permeate the sauce.

Reserve half of the sauce to be served with the chicken after it has been cooked.

Grill the chicken and baste with half of the BBQ sauce.

Serve with Rice and salad.
