Hot Buttered Rum Spiced Cider (non-alcoholic)

This year for Halloween I wanted to create something special for the parents of all the little trick-or-treaters who would brave a chilly Wyoming night. I love good food and the memories it creates. I hope this recipe will help you create wonderful memories of your own.

Hot buttered Rum Spiced Cider (non-alcoholic)

12 cups freshly juiced apples or unsweetened apple juice

3 large cinnamon sticks or 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon

6 Tbsp butter

¾ tsp ground nutmeg

¼ tsp ground cloves

1 ½ tsp Rum flavoring (gluten free)

¾ cup brown sugar

In a large pot add the following: Apple juice, cinnamon, butter, nutmeg, cloves, rum flavoring and brown sugar. Bring to a boil for 3-5 minutes, and then turn down to a low simmer for at least an hour. Stir frequently.

(note: make sure all your spices are clean and wheat/gluten free)
