Michelle's Apple Carob Crisp-Wheat/Gluten Free


Get out of the Status quo with this healthy and delicious recipe

Michelle’s Apple Carob Crisp

Crust:

1 cup Old fashioned Wheat-Gluten free Organic Oatmeal, OR, 1 cup raw nuts like Almonds or Walnuts

1 cup organic shredded Coconut (no additives like sulfites)

½ cup Almond flour or ground Flax seed

1/3 cup pure maple syrup

½ cup raisins or dates (pitted)

In a food processor process the wheat-gluten free Organic Oatmeal or (raw nuts), coconut, Almond flour, pure maple syrup and raisins or dates.

Then press this mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 glass pan.

Filling:

5 apples peeled, cored and thinly sliced and add the apple slices over the top of the crust mixture. Then sprinkle over the top of the apples 1 cup carob chips or gluten free chocolate chips

Topping:

1 cup Old fashioned Wheat-Gluten free Organic Oatmeal, OR, 1 cup raw nuts like Almonds or Walnuts finely chopped.

1 cup slivered Almonds

½ cup Amazing Flour Mix Recipe in A Wheat Free Life vs. the Holidays

1 tsp cinnamon

¼ cup melted butter

Mix the wheat-gluten free Oatmeal or raw chopped nuts, slivered Almonds, Amazing Flour Mix, cinnamon and butter. Then crumble over the top of the apple filling.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes

Many variations can be made. For example you could add rhubarb with the apples or turn this recipe into a cherry chocolate crisp. Delicious!
