It's a RAW THING !

People are constantly asking me how I have been able to improve my health and I tell them It's a RAW Thing! At first when I changed my diet the only things I ate were Raw, living and mostly green, then slowly as my health improved I was able to slowly add fruits and other clean foods. Now after a couple of years my diet consists of around 80% or more of Raw, living, clean foods and 20% of healthy, clean, cooked foods.

I am not the same person as I was a few years ago! I feel better, I think better and I am not so incredibly depressed.

I still have food allergies yet I have re-learned how to cook and enjoy Life! This is why I created A Wheat Free Life vs the Holidays. I wanted people to know especially those of us with Wheat or Gluten issues that we can still enjoy Life not just suffer through on sub-rate counterfiets offered by the commercialism of going wheat or gluten free.

I also want to teach the valuable lessons Karen Urbanek has taught me about the importance of eating RAW. The following is an article written by Karen Urbanek and you can easily access this information and more from her website:

Raw Foods by Karen Urbanek

Living food has biophotons, living enzymes, antioxidants, oxygen, wholefood vitamins and minerals that feed your body.

Living foods are foods which are alive aka RAWall fresh vegetables and fruits, un-roasted seeds - can be salted and dehydrated, un-roasted nuts - can be salted and dehydrated, sprouts, sprouted grains, fresh fermented foods - not canned or pickled, fresh herbs and spices.

Dead foods are foods that are cooked all pasteurized dairy, most anything out of a box, anything out of a can, anything processed, soda and canned beverages, all baked goods, cooked grains or sauteed vegetables, fruit spreads, sausages and other cooked meats.

Samples of raw foods:

  • Uncooked fruits

  • Uncooked vegetables

  • Sprouted beand and grains

  • Unroasted nuts and seeds

  • Micro-greens

  • Unpasteurized fermented foods and sprouts

These tasty ingredients can be combined into breads, crackers, pizza's, wraps, salads, hummus, juices, cookies, shakes and an endless array of LIVING foods! The difference between living foods and those sold in the normal grocery store is TEMPERATURE. When food is cooked above 111 F it starts loosing essential nutrients. A living foods diet rich in many raw foods creates an environment and pH that allows the body to cleanse naturally and keep free of dis-ease and illness.
